I saw this RO on Craigslist (see below). Is it too basic? I feel like I could build something this simple myself. (I love the other 4" x 40" membrane builds on here but I'm a bit intimidated)
My current plan is to have about 160 taps for the next few years due to young family, but have easy access to 600+ taps on my land. I've looked at many of the builds on here but would like to just have something simple to start. My sap averages 2.5% and I'd like to get it to 8% 1 pass but would love to get 12%+ final percent. Should I just get a used cdl hobby instead (sounds like they only get 50% one pas though). Thanks for any ideas

I would say that the price is a little bit high. Also, if you look closely, that seller is not in Vermont, but Indiana.

I agree. You could build that yourself for less than $1000.Try to find a used deer run RO or even smaller an RO bucket https://www.therobucket.com/Wordpress/product/sap-bucket-rb20-kit/
Check out Next Generation Maple. They have some nice looking small ROs. Other than seeing them on their website I don’t have any experience with them.

I have a NextGen 100STDRO and I have no complaints about the unit. It works great for me and I will process up to 300 gallons at a time with it. Take a few hours to run through 2 passes for me, but well worth the time savings.

I wouldn't worry about a basic unit, but that price for a used one that size is high.

Thanks for all the responses, I'll definitely check out nextgen maple since it seems they have some good pricing. What I meant by my post was is that design too simple, since it is basically just a pump, prefilter, and ro membrane (not much electrical component or gauges). If I can keep it that simple I think i could build one myself for ~$900.
