A freind of mine has a very nice bush but no time to tap I have been playing around with the idea of asking him to tap his trees. Being new to this I have some questions.
- seeing that he is about 40 mins away I would think a gravity pipe line would work best as aposed to buckets?
- I was going to pay him in syrup for that sap what precentage would be fair?
- is this a good idea?
I run 20 taps now but have put alot of upgrades into my hobby and want it to pay off.

I always pay in syrup because all my trees are on other peoples property. I usually give each one 1.5 gallons of syrup, but I have around 80 to 100 taps on each of my three properties. Just work out a deal with him for whatever you can each agree on. Most people are not greedy and especially if they know how much work it is.

I would think 10% would be the max, but I may be wrong. :?
