Does anyone have any experience with Haro sap lifters. I can’t seem to find much information on them, besides French references. The ball floats look good, drains look good, are any better then others when dealing with ice and freezing up?
I used one of those Haro sap lifters for two seasons. Not too pleased with the freeze ups, drain not working properly, etc, ect. I then went to using a sap ladder. Not much better in my opinion. Finally I ran 500' of power to a small insulated heated building that I built to house an electric releaser. Now I get 100% of the sap from the 110 taps that run into that electric releaser.

Thanks Joe, that’s what has me concerned with the drain and freezing. Don’t have the option for power though. It looks like CDL and Leader both use the Haro style. Has anyone had good luck with Lapierre’s? Seems like Lapierre use an actual small modified sap releaser. Worst case I’m thinking of running it’s own 1-1/4” wet/dry line from the conex box releaser that way it can isolated until it thaws out or I have time to investigate. The other 6k worth of taps take priority over the 400-500 worth I’m picking up.
I did not want to make my first reply any longer than necessary, but I also bought a Lapierre reverse slope releaser that I used for one season,(it did not work well at all), a small hobby Lapierre releaser used for one season (had to be perfectly level to operate) and a small Bernard releaser that did not work very well. Trying to lift the sap from those 110 taps 14' to the tank was a very frustrating about 8 or 9 year experience that the electric releaser fixed. Too bad you don't have electricity available.
