Well here is the CEC_Line_Level that I developed to help sugar makers while setting up tubing systems large or small. This tool fits in your pocket and easily slips on to the 5/16 inch line to show you when you have the correct slope. It is about 4 inches long and made with 4 parts.
1. (1) String line level (Bubble level) (modified.)
2. (2) CDL hook fittings (modified)
3. (2) Small self tapping sheet metal screws.
This tool snaps over the line and can be slid along the line if required. I did find that the tubing actually has a slightly different slope at different areas along the tubing.
The end of the tool with the round black portion of the CDL fitting still attached is the low end of the line. The line level is offset vertically where attached to the CDL hook fittings, allowing the bubble to show level when the tubing is at the correct slope.
