When should you get a new cone filter

I have had my cone filters for about 10 seasons proble 100 gallons through the filters and having a hard time this year I would think that the older the filter the easier it would go through and have more niter in my syrup but my syrup looks good but takes a long time to filter plus I use 4 pre filters that are new every year

Haven't thought about it lately but I guess if you care for it and keep it clean it should last 10 years. Maybe have a spare handy. Sounds like your doing a good job!
