Can I do 50 taps on 5/16 without a insertion tool? I will probably do 4, 12 tree runs or so.

Take a thermos of very hot water and heat up the tubing end just before putting on the fitting. Very doable for that few.

I've got 45 on 5/16. 4 runs. No tool here. I used to use a propane torch if was super cold out, but haven't found it necessary if it's 35+ degrees out.

I used a thermos with hot water for years. Started out with a glass lined one but that got broke. use a stainless one. push the tubing on all the way on the barbs.

Yes hot water will work. Too hot and the tubing may not have the strength to resist pulling off when under a lot of tension. I did a lot with hot water when I put up my first tubing. I distinctly remember it was about a foot of snow and 5 degrees!

Of course you can. I would just pop the tubing in your mouth for a minute and then connect. Your using New tubing so the I would not worry about large amounts of bacteria going back into the tap hole.

I just kept on getting chew in the tube when I put in my mouth.. LOL Just kidding.
