Reverse osmosis cleaning

Just built a homemade RO this year using a hydranautics 4x 40 espa2 membrane. Any advice on year end cleaning tha membrane.

I'm not familiar with that membrane, but if you send a request by email to me dave@cnymaple.com I will send you a manual that may help a lot. It outlines how to do each step on most RO's.

I would contact hydranautics directly for their recommendations. I just took a look at some of their older technical bulletins. Their cleaning procedures are much milder and use different cleaning chemicals than Dow recommends for the Filmtec membranes. For example Hydranautics generally clean in the 4-9 pH range where the other manufacturers recommend up to pH 12. They are very explicit that going outside these recommended pH ranges can damage their membrane.
