My main line keeps freezing , should shut the vacuum off and let it thaw or leave vacuum on and hope it thaws .

Leave I it on. It will eventually pull the ice through quicker than waiting for a thaw.

Thank you all this is my first year with vacuum and a releaser with 1000 taps on it

I shut it off because when it pulls a slug of slush into the releaser it messes things up. I try turning it on about every hour until I get flow that is mostly (but maybe not all liquid). At least on my double horizontal releaser has problems when it pulls a volume of slush in. It seems to pass into the collection tanks but then when it dumps some slush seems to always get hung up dumping out of the flapper valve, then the next time that side gets vacuum the flapper is held open slightly and the rush or air pulling past it freezes the slush ton a solid mass. I've had this on both my Ed Sobles double horizontal releaser and on my BHR double vertical releaser.
