Massachusetts DBA sole proprietor

Does anyone from Massachusetts have experience setting up shop as a DBA sole proprietor? I am looking to take my hobby to the next small level so I am able to sell my syrup legally around my area. Thanks in advance!

Does your town require you to have a DBA? We do not have one and have been producing and selling syrup for 40 years. Never had a problem.
