Has anyone ever tried painting mainline white before putting it up, when it is still in a coil?
I have never painted any and would think that painting it after it was up would be harder.

I haven't tried painting it yet, but I have seen where others painted just the upper half white. I was told they got a "painters mit" and just dipped it in the paint, held their hand with the mit on the pipe and walked, when more was needed they dipped the mit again. This method would not work if still in a coil.

I was told by a represenatve from Maple Pro that paint would work through the plastic.

the only way paint will stick to the main line for any length of time is to sand it first. This roughs up the surface to give it something to stick to. I believe it would be hard to do when still in a coil.
