The winds down here really reeked havoc on our neighborhood Sugarbush. I left a gallon or so of sap in each of my 24 buckets. Most of them did well but four or five of them got knocked down by the wind and they pulled the tap out of the tree. During my morning walk around some of the trees kept running and now I have icicles coming out of the tap holes and ice flowing down the trees. Do I just be patient and wait for the ice to melt and push the tap back in? Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I think waiting is your best option. Might get lucky and have a sunny day that melts it out without really running much, so you don't lose much in a big run.

Yes, when the ice melts, reset the tap, it might be best to use a new tap or at least clean the original, rinse well.
