I am changing the oil on my airblow oil cooled vacuum pump and discovered water frozen in the oil filter. I am wondering if what to do about it and if it means there is water in the rest of the system and if it will affect the vacuum and what i can do about the water

There will be water thru the whole system. If there is any ice in the pump head it will break on start up. I have a 3hp airblow. Heat the pump up for a few days to completely thaw before trying to run. Drain all fluid out, change filter and oil. Mine stays in a heated room that I keep just above freezing thru the winter, a week to 10 days before I am going to need I turn the heat up to 80 to make sure it is good.

Pumps and ice do not play well together. As strong as the pump is, the ice can break it.
