I searched and searched but I am not finding the answer. For Shurflo and Lunchbox type vacuum setups, where should I put vacuum gauges. How many do I need to check vac operation? I read for 3/16 people are putting them on the end of each line but I am running 3/4 mains with about 8 laterals each.

Typically there is a gauge at the pump, and often there is a gauge at the end of each mainline (and frequently where mainlines branch off other mains).

When we had a sap puller we had one at the pump and nothing for the lines. Now with vacuum we have several. One at the pump, releaser, mainline near branches and one at the end of every line. We also have the CDL monitoring system added to most of the ends of the mainlines.
Overall as many as you want to help trouble shoot problems or watch for trends to understand your bush.

Good point. I am leaning toward dry gauges for the mainlines and a liquid filled for the pump. Any preference or recommendation on dry vs. liquid?
