Seems like equation is 120v x 15 amps equals 1800 watts to start
Wondering if my Honda 2000i. Would work ?

I know the plug us a 15 amp plug, however check the instructions and you may find they want a 20 amp outlet...I am just thinking back to what my instructions said. It will want most all of the 15 amps too. We had power at the sugar house when we added the RO, but I think a 3-3500 watt gen maybe a good choice. If you have a EU2000, good unit, and it does not work you can add a second one and you will be good to go. I think the EU2000 I have is rated for 13 amps...I looked last week when I wanted to run a saw that was a 15 amp saw.

Be careful to make sure you have enough generator particularly for starting the motor. Motors draw more on startup and if your generator is not big enough to maintain proper voltage and amperage, eventually the motor will burn out. Also, as pre-filters and membranes get dirty, the pumps work harder increasing power draw. Saving money up front on a little smaller generator could bite you in the but if it eventually damages the RO pumps. We had that problem on grid power for years because the power company refused to upgrade the line feeding our road. Voltage drops would eventually burn out motors.

I will be running my 250gph CDL R/O this year on a generator until the ground thaws out and I can get my under ground power run. I am running mine on a 10,500 watt surge, 7500 watt continuas generator. Mine has a digital read out screen on the front showing how much juice you are drawing and when I run my house on it I can run the complete house just like we are on grid and only are using 40% of the available output so I think I will be ok.......I hope. My 120V outlets are 20 amp and my 240 outlet is 30amp
