Average start date?

I was just wondering what the average start date is in Rhode Island. Last year I tapped around the 10th of February and did pretty good, but o was looking at the forecast over the next couple of weeks. Just wondering what everyone is thinking.

It somewhat depends on what you're using. Buckets will want to wait until the weather is optimal. Tubing will run longer so you can tap earlier. The rule of thumb I used with buckets was start looking at the 5 day forecast around presidents day. If you see warm days and cool nights for the next week or so put in the taps.
