I pick up a new Leader Ro Micro 2. For Soap wash the paper for the membranes say "clean membrane with a ph of up to 12"
Ok up to 12 but what would the low end be?
Thanks Brian

Soap wash should be as close to 12 as you can get.

The soap wash works better at the higher pH but if you go above 12 you could damage the membrane depending on the temperature of the wash. You should make sure you don't exceed the wash temperature recommendations as well. The only downside for low pH is the membrane may not get as clean and that can affect the performance on sap. I think most of the commercial soaps are buffered so it is probably difficult to get it too much above 12.

That is correct. Most (not all) of the RO soap for maple is buffered. Contact Leader for their recommendation on the soap to use. If buffered, then a little too much is OK. If not buffered, get some pH test strips.
