So I have seen an older thread about the Rapi-Tube and was wondering how you like it and any input on it (good, bad, ok). Is their a cost savings on putting it up over putting wire up?

Hell of a lot faster than wire and adjustable fron year to year

I agree with Mark, very handy. Amazing how many uses you find for it.

So what I'm hearing is that it's good but expensive up front.

I've had 1300 on it since 2013. No complaints. Follow versa profiles rule of stretching it 3% (youtube). The strap stuff is also excellent. I had a CDL rep spend a day with me. Once you get hang of it, could probably have 1000ft main done/day by yourself depending on complexity of your bush. Cost me around $10/tap but I average 3 taps/lateral. Huge savings in long term. I hated fighting wire and those **** twist ties when repairing tree damage or bear bites. I'd like to try the spin seal system next.

Do not over stretch it, tighten to the 3% rule as already stated and then stake it to make sure that there are no low spots. If you take and pull i with a zig-zag pattern after you have stretched it you will over stretch it and when it is over stretched the holes where you put the saddles will become oval and will leak under vacuum. This is the voice of experience, been there and done that. Do not be afraid to use it, just to use it and it does save time, but do not over stretch it you will have way more work on your hands.

So what is the 3% rule? I tried looking it up on YouTube as stated above but came up with some odd hits.

The RapiTube has the length marked on it, just read the start and end length subtract for the length, then stretch it 3%, thus if 1000' long, 3% is 30'.
