How many 1/3 ounce candies should you be able to make out of one quart of syrup?
Do any of you whole sale these to stores and how much do you charge for a four candy bag?
Thanks.

somewhere around 90. But that would depend on how full you fill the mold and how much syrup is lost in the pig and trough
you should be able to get about 2 lbs. from a qt.

doocat, I have made maple sugar candy for years and have 2 steady customers. One a cheese factory, the other a convenience store on the interstate. I sell 1.25 ounce bags to them for $1.00 each. Up from .90 about 3 years ago. I buy the small sized cello bags from Sugar bush supply out of Michigan. They should be in the Leader book too. I usually end up with 1 large 1 0unce leaf and 1 small 1/3 ounce per bag. I use a small electronic kitchen scale and jockey them around to come up with 1.25 ounces. 3 full sugars that are supposedly 1/3 of an ounce usually equal 1.25 ounces, then again there is some that is extra on the top making them more than 1/3 an ounce.
