Looking to buy a 19"x48" Lapierre Mini Pro or a mason 2x4 XL, what do you think would be the better evaporator?

Bill Mason makes a 2x4' raised flue evaporator, it is not on his web site but send him an email for details

I haven't looked at the Lapierre evaporator but can say that I'm very happy with the equipment that I've purchased from Bill Mason. The feed tank, finisher pan and AOF/AUF arch that I had him build for me were all custom builds to my specs. They have all worked flawlessly and the arch far exceeded my expectations. Give Bill a call, he's a great guy to do business with.

Another happy Mason customer. 2x6 tube back pan performed way better than advertised.

Thanks for the info, looks like I'm going to talk to Mr. Mason. I'm down sizing because it's just the wife and I and only looking to make 10-12 gallons a season, only have 80 taps on my property. In order to make more I'd have to truck sap in and buy fire wood don't want a second job but still love making sweet gold. The 2x4XL looks like it will do the job just trying to keep float boxes on a 2x4 so that I don't have to maintain sap levels manually. Will be giving Bill a call. Once again thanks.

We had the 2x4 xl. Went to Maine to pick it up. He's a great guy. Bought the fan.

I bought a 2x4 xl last summer and made 16 gal of syrup this year. I never got the blower wired up and still averaged over 15 gph. I had 95 taps this year all on reds and everything worked great. I may go the 150 taps next year but that will probably be the max I would do myself.
