I'm new to all of this. This is my first year of helping my neighbour do syrup. In previous years he's done between 5 and 10 taps. I'm hoping with my help that we can increase this to 20+ taps.
In order to help reduce the amount of time boiling the sap down, it thought about adding a RO system to the process. Sounds simple enough.
I've thought about building something myself or getting something like The RO Bucket. But considering sap season is fairly short, I'm wondering if anyone has considered a dual purpose RO system to help justify the cost.
What I mean is something that can be used as a small scale RO system for sap for the 1-2 months its flowing and then for the other 10-11 months of the year use it as a RO system for the house.
Has anyone thought of doing this? Pros/Cons? No advisable?
