I be interested to know how you may have modified your mason arch in the ramp area. I found it to be to wide an area to get great heat to bottom of my pan. So I built a wall about 3 inches from the rear to force heat up to make it heat back of pan better. But I feel like I need to get tighter to the pan starting right after fire box if I am going to get a faster boil. I just bought a Leader 2x4 supreme pan which has drop flu in center channel. I found that back section of my syrup channel was not boiling well with this new pan and I am sure it has to do with my wall stopping 3 inches short of the back and that there is to much space between ramp and pan in general.
