Hello To Everyone:

I have a brand new wool filter, holy moly does it ever look pretty, lol. My old one has more than done its job.

Can I just use it fresh outta the store or should I be rinsing it, or hot water through it ??

What do others do with a brand new filter ?

Please advise...

Thanks so much.

Some people just in general call them wool or felt filters, actual material could be wool, orlon, nylon, or polyester. Anyway, how about a warm water rinse, cold water rinse, and then hang to dry first. You already know this cuz you have an "old" one, but no soap (somebody on here may not be familiar). I'm not an expert, I just use them too and thats what I do. take care, Mark

I would wash it in a clean bucket with hot water and roll it up in a clean food grade cotton towel. One that doesn't have fabric softener. Use them damp when filtering.

Now when your wife comes home with a bag of new socks and underwear is she grossed out when you use them right out of the pack like my wife.
