Yesterday I was cleaning up the yard. Today it's snowing. Ron had 2 gallons of 2% sap to boil this am. from the tree with 3 taps. Went to about 29 last night. Looks like over a gallon since this morning in the bucket. About 14 pints of golden so far. Rest of week looks like we can keep going for a bit. Anyone else still going in Montgomery county,NY?

I'm still going in Madison County, due west of you. Forecast looks like it could be another 7-10 days here. Even if it went to the end of the month, I'd need to be finished, last boil in 10-12 days at most, to finish off everything before my surgery on 4/18. I will then be on "no working orders for 2 weeks and no lifting over 10# for another 4 weeks. So far all I've made is amber.

I'm not in your wonderful county, but I'm still going. 4,500 gals of sap so far this week and it's flowing well now. Looks like at least another week for me if not more. Glad to hear Ron is boiling away. Are you making it to toms this year?

In St Lawrence County we're having a warm night and rain followed by 16 degrees tomorrow night, and then four perfect sugaring days in a row.

Hi Herb. Glad things are going well for you. Tom just told me May 5th for open house. Let us know when you'll be there and we'll meet up.

We're still waiting for things to really get started here. We got 14" of snow yesterday with 40 mph winds on top of the 3' still in the woods. It was -5 degrees this morning, I'm sure glad I took this week off to make syrup!
