Made some grade b ok flaver but leaves a bite after taste unfortunately I already canned it. I could reheat it and drum it ig but I'd rather not. If I sold it retail would it just sell for less?

Cut your losses and keep your customers coming back year after year :). Or, before doing anything drastic get a second opinion on the taste. Maybe display it separately, with a discount, and if possible, post a sign offering teaspoon-sized samples and let the customer decide.

I see you are in NY, you do not have a grade B any longer, just Golden, Amber, Dark and Very dark, all grade A then anything with an off taste, regardless of color is Commercial and can not be sold at retail. Be careful or NYS Ag and Markets will be knocking on your door.
I suggest you sell it in a barrel as commercial. Sell your customers top shelf and keep happy customers.

I've gotten the bitter bite/after taste in my syrup before and it was caused by bacteria. It tasted terrible on pancakes but makes great baked beans. Where it's already jugged up you could sell it as cooking syrup and have a sample bottle to give customers a taste first. I've had many people buy it at my regular price that love it and come back for more. I've solved my bacteria problem and don't make any of it anymore.

Dave have you had anyone from my ag and markets stop at your place? If so what do they do?
