OK,
Missed what happened the first two batches? Changed your filtering process? Syrup looks clear!

That syrup looks beautiful! What was your filter process?

Yes sugarmaker, the first batch was horrible, cloudy for days, second was as good as three, but i did change it. When I first was shown how to make syrup from my mother in law last year, we basically boiled yhe hell out of it, until it git temp, ran it through tea towels and canned it, over the past year, I made a new pan, and did endless hours of research on making syrup, and I ended up with the method of filtering it before it is finished, around 216 or so, and drawing it into a stock pot to finish. I run a few 10" cone filters for grease nested inside of 1 maple syrup pre-filter, once I hit the finish temp, I run it through 2 or 3 pre-filters into an iron filter into a coffee urn to bring into the house to can it.

Thanks maplelady, it turned out way better than the 1st batch, number 2 was good also, just didn't get a good pocture of it.
