I'm going to be building a barrel arch over the summer, tired of the turkey fryer.

I'm curious if anyone has ever fitted a barrel with a oil burner.

Btw, first post. As a kid we tapped around 500 trees back home in Michigan. live in NJ now and just tapped the 2 sugars in the yard, 2 gallons of syrup this year. Got the bug back and gotta go bigger next year.

We put one on our 2x4 finish evaporator. Works great.

I run an oil fired barrel arch. I use a .75gph nozzle and can boil about 4gph on 2 steam table pans. Would be much higher with a real pan.

Any chance you have any pictures of the combustion chamber? Did you use firebrick or a ceramic blanket?

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the combustion chamber... I looked up what size it needed to be for the gun and nozzle size. I filled the bottom 3rd with sand then some ceramic blanket and fire brick on top of that to get the chamber the right size. I did have to put a few bricks at the very back as well to act like a baffle and force the hot gases up to the pans. It boils pretty well.
