New to filtering with a press. I flushed the press with some hot water and saved the remains.

I was going to throw it back in the evaporator, the question is which pan, flue pan or syrup pan.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I usually dump it back into the flue pan

If you flush it with hot sap you could put it right back in the pans. The water you used will be Ok too, just doesnt have any sweet in it. Have fun and keep boiling!

Chris

Leave it in your draw off pail or tank and draw a heavy batch of syrup into it the next time that you boil.

We draw a couple of pots off the steam - away and run it through the press .....
More if needed ......
That goes back into the steam-away ..... in your case the flue pan ....
Then when it looks clean we run a pot of hot water through it .... that goes down the drain ....
