Instead of adding maple syrup to coffee, why not make coffee with maple sap?
It seems counterproductive to boil the sap down to a teaspoon of syrup and then add it to a cup of water in the coffee. The ratio of a cup to a teaspoon is almost perfectly 40-1.
I used a melitta cone filter over the cup to make some coffee, and it was wonderful.

2018 - 2 taps and a lot of hope :)

I do that when I am boiling, but it is not like it would be worth keeping sap frozen in the freezer to make coffee that way all the time.
but then good coffee does not need sweetener in my opinion :)

all through syrup season I make tea with sweet from the pan and sap. Probably about 2 parts sap to 1 part sweet with the appropriate number of tea bags for the volume. It is a hit with everyone who visits the shack.

Seems like that would work great for about 4 to 6 weeks of the year.
