I tapped 22 trees here in Alcona County on Monday and cooked 25 gallons on Wednesday. I'll probably boil again on Sunday. It will be a limited season for me, mainly because I'm building a new house at my deer hunting property and secondary sugarbush. My current house and sugarbush are on the market. If anyone is interested in 84 diverse acres with a unique 3BR house and about 150 mostly red maples, let me know.

Even the lower tap numbers from what I am getting here in Midland County Cedar may produce good syrup amount for you. I am running just over 2% off my reds right now. Which has lead to better than the last two years for finished amounts. :D

It seems like I got a real good yield from the one batch that I already boiled. I think you're right about the sap being sweeter this year.

Boiling my second batch today. About 25 gallons of sap for the past two afternoons and it's flowing again today. Supposed to stay cold tomorrow and snow Tuesday.
