So after hours and hours of looking at everyone else's arch builds I decided it was time for me to make my own. I built a 2x4 arch out of 2x2 by 3/16th angle iron and wrapped it in 18 gauge sheet metal. I wanted a door that was bigger than a barrel stove kit and a little more fancy so I bought a fireplace insert off Craigslist for $80 and cut the face off and scraped the rest. The door is perfect size and I love the fact it had the draft controll knobs built right in. Total build cost me just over $350. Now all I have left to do is lay the brick and put my new badgerland 2x4 flat pan on top.
