Rain water getting into sap buckets will this cause the sap
To take on a slight color change like a yellow tint. Sap taste ok
and no smell or cloudiness
In my experience, limited tho' it is, yes, rain water can cause a yellowish tint. In prior years, it was explained to me that it has to do with color from the bark. (Now, I tossed a couple inches from a few buckets that were yellow, because it almost looked like there was discoloration on the tap itself. I figured I had so little in, that I'd see what happened without the rain.)
Clear, no smell or cloudiness are the important things.
