Does anybody have experience with a delaval 74 pulling high vacuum? Are they reliable and capable of pulling 25in plus.

With a lot of modifications it can be done. What are you mechanical abilities and budget. You will need a releaser because a vacuum tank wont work.

I've been running a 74 for several years now. It runs perfect at 21 inches but runs super hot much above that. I think the guys on here have convinced me it needs a better oil reclaimer and cooling system. I'm not sure what the cfms are at 25 inches. Breezyhill on here can give you some good info on these pumps and the mods they need. Jeff

Cannot do it with a dairy pump, I loved my 74 but they are only good up to 20". After 20" ALL dairy pumps will overheat without a flood oil system and even that will only take them up to 24-25". Some can take it slightly better than others.
