I am trying to source domestically made glass bottles in both 8 and 12 oz with the handle. Any of you have suggestions? I talked with Burch Bottle today in NY. Super nice people on the phone, they carry them and say they are made in USA.

Canada or USA, to me, is far better the "made in China" junk I've been getting locally...they're terrible looking, have a weird green tint and are all wavy.
I just can't stomach putting my syrup in a bottle made in China! Thanks John.

BTW...I've never seen as much sap, in a one week period, as we've had over here. I'm gonna be out of wood soon.

I believe the oval bottles sugar bush supplies sells are made in the USA. They are definitely thicker than the ones made in China.

Questions from a beginner. Didn't want to start a new thread, and my questions are regarding bottling in general.
Is it ok to re-use caps that came with original bottles? Or should I buy new caps every year? I'm talking about caps that still have the gasket in them.
Also, Is it ok to leave my syrup out of the fridge until it is opened? Or should it go in the fridge right after it's boiled and bottled?
Thank you.

At 7-10¢ ea for caps it would seem to make sense to use new. I'm not sure how you would sterilize used caps and the seal is probably not as good on a used as it is on new.
As long as you hot packed your syrup - 185-190° - you don't need to put in the fridge until it's been opened.

Thank you.
It wasn't a matter of price or cost. I just didn't think about it or know better, and since the original caps all had the seals still in them, I just boiled them along with the bottles.
Small time here. Just having fun, and wanting to do things right.
