Turning Orlon filter inside out

To wash it I like to push the bottom thru the top inside out then back the other way,does this damage the fiber like ringing out would?

i would assume it does mess the fibers up some. probably not as bad as wringing it out. I tip mine upside down (like wearing a hat) and put it in the sink and let the hot water run over it for a few minutes. if it's real caked up i'll do that and set it in the sink full of hot water. usually pretty spotless after some rinsing after that.
