Do you need a pressure valve, the only reason I can understand why you would need one is if your pump is unattended. I safe guard in a way.

My setup is a Aquatec 8800 which goes to a 5 micron filter then through a pressure gauge then through three 150 gpd membranes.

I would not think you would need a high pressure cut off for your application. That pump is not going to over pressure any of your components. Pressure switches are needed when your pump can exceed the pressure ratings of the components behind it. I'm my case my triplex pump can reach 1200 psi. That would be game over for the RO if it did not shut off. Jeff

Similar on mine. Many of my components are rated for 300 PSI max, and my pump can do more, so I have a high pressure shut off switch set up at 300.
As your RO runs the pressure will slowly increase due to buildup on the surface of the membrane(s). AS it does, if it is running unattended things could go from all good to destroyed in an instant. You spent good money to make the RO, why would you risk it all and lose all the sap in your tank too? If any component bursts, the pump will not quit, and then everything in your tank will land on the floor.
