We put 40 taps in Thursday (Feb. 15) and will finish setting up our last 10 or so taps today before the winter weather moves in tonight. Sap was running on Thursday and Friday and collected about 30 gallons so far on hobby vac. This year's weather makes me nervous with the warm ups and cool downs, but its New England what can we do. We are located in Bedford, NH.

Good luck everyone!

Bill

Decided to pick up four maples that I have never tapped before, and fire up the evaporator to get rid of the sweet from the RO tonight. We have collect ~238 gallons so far, and have ~4 gallons of syrup. The 10 day is making me nervous as we have only been tapped for a week!

Hey Bill. That's quite an upgrade in syrup production since our humble beginnings in 2012. Seven seasons later and there is no stopping us. Have a great sugaring year!

Hard to believe it’s been that long! It’s been slow here the last couple days, I am hoping we get below freezing in the coming days to recharge the trees! We are at half our normal syrup haul here.

You're doing pretty good to be at half crop this early. I'm at 1/3 crop here in Loudon.

I had Bill Mason build me an AUF/AOF arch for my Algier pans. He did a nice job and I'm really liking it.

Absolutely lucky to have 1/2 our syrup so far. The weather and lack of sap the last couple days has me nervous. I think getting all my taps on hobby vac and the fact that we are processing our sap more timely this year given the warmer weather has helped. We have yet to see the really big runs we had in previous years but hope that the weather will work out for us in the coming weeks.

We crossed over 500 gallons of sap collected tonight. The saptapapp that was posted on mapletrader has been very helpful to us to track our progress this season. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180311/289a3f319695b26795ad25eac05a8bd4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180311/c369bb0710ba25882d116c0f697b9f7b.jpg

I got the SapTapApp too and have collected 7210 gallons of sap so far. I used to have to add it up at the end of the season to find out how much I collected. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

The app has been awesome for us. No more trying to find that piece of scratch paper with your notes about sap collection!
