Anyone know what direction the pump rotation is? We just put together a motor and pump and wanted to know the rotation. We had it at clockwise, seemed to suck OK, but wondered about the oiling system if it had to be CW/CCW?

on the cast there is an arrow to show the rotation direction.
If you cant find it I can go down and look at one I have.

If you have it going the wrong way, you will know it.

Generally if the intake is on the left then the shaft would turn counter clockwise. If you look at the side plates you will see the shaft is off center and to the top of the unit. That allows the vanes to spin out into the barrel making an air space as it passes by the intake. This airspace is created in a closed system so to speak and that space is void of air ( a vacuum) as the air enters it spins to the exhaust side and gets squeezed out under pressure Making that side of the pump a compressor.
I know I'm being long winded but that is how vane pumps work. That is also why vane pumps don't make good water pumps.
