Here's a question for you. I just purchases a new 2 x 4 CDL classic evaporator. I'm wondering if I should protect the stove in any way. I will be boiling outside and it will be placed indoors (my shed) when the season is over. Should I treat it like my cast iron pans with some crisco, or give it a coat of car wax or some other type of protection?

My reason for asking is because after I bricked it, I was just wiping down the stove, and a bunch of black dust showed up on my towel and I was also getting the black dust on my clothes and hands from touching it. So after I washed it, you guessed it, "wax on, wax off" came to mind, and I had never even seen that movie. Any suggestions?

I have also sent an email to CDL to see what they recommend, but I also what to see what Maple producing public has to say and what has been your experience.

Thanks
