So I did a trial run with the first 10 gallons collected. I baselined the raw sap at about 1.6 %. The setup consists of a shurflo pressure pump, sediment filter and 3-150gpd ro filters, needle valve, etc.
Got everything up and running and first run permeate ran at 0%, and concentrate was up above 3%, after recirculating for 2 hours I was where you see it in the pic below... about 6% and very off colored. Tastes sweet, no smell or bubbles like bad sap I've experienced before.
Rinsed the new ro filters with warm distilled water and peroxide solution when new.
Any ideas why the dark color? I know concentrated sap darkens, but this much?
