This will be my second year tapping and making syrup. Last year made about 8 finished gallons and bottled in mason jars. Makes a mess when using on pancakes.... I've been saving snapple bottles but won't have enough for this year. I've been trying to find reasonable traditional flat glass bottles. Most reasonable deal i could find was on roths website 12 oz for 8.95 for a case of 10. Is there a different online supplier for a better deal? Or a commercial producer in southeastern Wisconsin I could buy bottles from? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I meant 12 12oz bottles from roths for $8.95. What do other hobby syrup makers use for bottling? Trying to keep this a low cost operation.

Mason jars are really cheap especially if you already have them for shelf stable storage of your syrup. I use Squeeze Condiment Bottles (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HAWNA5M/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1)for the syrup that is in use and in the fridge. You can easily pour the bulk syrup from the mason jar in to the squeeze bottle with no mess and then have clean drip free dispenser on the table. I found they also make it easier for my young kids to use the syrup without dumping half a quart on their plate which lowers my risk for a heart attack on sunday mornings.

That's funny, this is an addiction that comes with one thing certain......you will spend money and more of it than you ever planned. This stuff should be traded as a precious commodity, like gold.

I do the same, except I use an Aunt Jemima bottle that my in-laws were throwing away. I agree 100% - it reduces the pucker factor quite a bit when my kids go back for the second plate of pancakes and I'm not there to supervise.
For selling, I like the idea of buying new bottles, though. If you think about it, less than $1 of your sales price is the bottle, so get what you like, and think will attract customers.

I get my bottles at Maple Hollow east of Merrill, WI. They seemed reasonable priced. They have different sizes and types. The caps I got this year with my glass bottles are the flip top type with a pour spout so we will see how that works to help eliminate the syrup running down the container.

I use the decanter bottles for pints and quarts with the flip top caps and the 8 ounce with the little handle. I just made a run to Roths last weekend but depending on where you are in SE Wisconsin SmokyLake in Hilbert sells bottles also.

Jessie from Inthewoods also sells supplies. I got bottles last year with the flip top safety seal tops and people loved them.
Call Jessie at 920-242-9050 He carries bottles and all sorts of supplies. Take a few minuets and check out his Sugar Shack. Its nicer than my house. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't take a tooth brush out into his woods and scrub the dirt off his mainline twisty ties.

There is a pour spout lid you can get for mason jars. I recall getting a couple of amazon.

Aunt Jemima bottle? That is the wrong image for real maple syrup! Get a generic bottle or at least a food bottle that does identify a fake syrup., then relabel it.

Leader Evaporator has 8 ounce bottles with nice red metal caps included for $9/case of 12. Best was that it was only $30 shipping for 25 cases to Indiana.
