Hi all. I have my eye on a 10hp universal vacuum pump on Craigslist right now. The unit comes without a motor, but the seller claims a 10hp elec motor came off of it. I have a 7hp 3450 rpm motor, which obviously is too fast, but I could reduce the rpms by increasing the pulley sizes. I haven’t done the math yet to see what size pulleys I would need, but I was curious if anyone knows what rpms these pumps were supposed to run at. 800 rpms comes to mind, but I’m not sure if that’s correct. Thanks in advance

Can't help you with the pump specs but I use this calculator all the time. Might help with figuring out pully sizes.

700 to 1000 rpm is a standard speed for them.
your motor is not meant to run this slow of a device so start up may be difficult on the belts.
