Hello all

I have two separate pans for my oil tank arch. Back pan is 30” x 27” and syrup pan is 18” x 27”. Unfortunately they are not connect in anyway. I would like to connect both pan and create a draw off as well. I have been looking at ideas and I thought about using weldless bulking head fittings.

Problem is I can only find them in 1/2 inch npt. Is this big enough for good flow between pans? I thought 3/4 inch would be minimum but maybe I’m wrong. If 3/4 is needed, any ideas where I could get some?

I also thought about soldering on a copper nipple but nervous about applying heat to my pans

Thanks for your help

Are they welded or soldered pans? 1/2 in weldless fittings are more common as that was the majority of what I found when I was looking last month.

you're going to want to have someone weld real 1" or better connectors. 1/2" NPT will not be enough

They are welded pans but where I had them built would not weld any fitting on the side. They would only bend the pan and weld the seams.
