Anyone else in MA tapping their trees and see a good sap run? Wondering if I'm too early and the taps will heal over on the back end of the season.

Reds are running pretty good over this way on vacuum. Haven't had a chance to check for sugar yet..

I'm holding off in Foxboro. I tapped early last year and they dried out on me.

Tapped six trees today. 3 were really flowing. 3 were dry as a bone. Mix of sugar and red maples. Going to hold off on doing more. Planning to tap 15 this year.

I put ten in last Sat. all running pretty good

Pushing a just over a gallon per tap today with the sugar maples. Perfect conditions! Reds are still being moody.... :confused:
