We have a similar setup, only all 5/16. I haven't tried 3/16 yet. Do you see much difference between the two?

Don't mean to high jack thread, but from what I've seen and what I know from producers that have 3/16 tubing you will get max. vacuum on your trees if you have 30 foot drop in elevation from last tap, there is an equipment dealer in the state that will look at your woods and advise you whether your setup will work for 3/16, disadvantages are many gallons of sap to process! Also sugar content normally runs very low. I did bring in 200 gallons of sap from a 183 tap 3/16 set up yesterday that checked 2.3 percent with my old sap hydrometer, suspect hydrometer is wrong!

Thanks for the input. I am currently collecting spring water to run through the RO to remove the preservative. This will be my second year with the RO, so I've never done the entire process. Raining today, looks like good tapping weather tomorrow. Good luck with your season. Aaron
