I was at Rural King yesterday and saw this 12 volt pump for $99.99 . Is too big for a vacuum system , too many amps ? System would be remote in the woods .I would have about 80 taps on it17140

I have a similar pump, a 5.5 gpm 12 volt Seaflo diaphragm pump. It draws about 3-4 times more power than my 3 gpm Shurflo, so expect battery life to be reduced proportionally, or plan on having 2-3 batteries wired in parallel - which can be expensive. Or keep a charger connected up if you have access to AC power. I'm only using mine for a sap transfer pump, not vacuum. The smaller pumps should work fine for your setup with 80 taps.

I used their Everflo 3 gpm model last year, I didn't measure the vacuum but I took a saddle off my my 1100' 3/4" mainline about halfway out, and it hissed like crazy! I had 125 taps on it, 5/16 and 3/16 mix, had several days with 2.5 gal per tap. I reutilized it later in the summer to irrigate pumpkins with and burnt it out. Just bought a shurflo 4008 last week, gonna hook it up later this week, tapping tomorrow.
