Wow... Dad (mapleguy) was there too and talked to Matt... I think Dad only went to Waterloo, not St. Luger. I was in Waterloo for it last year, but would love to go to the SL sometime. Nice pics, thanks.
Edit: I was wrong, Dad was in St. Luger this time, not Waterloo.

Jason,
How many taps? Hargroves in New Brunswicks tap 105000 trees I believe they have ca 175000 taps. The picture show black main line what is the white stuff in the pile behind the black main line? Tubing?
Just curious?

If you click a couple of times on the picture it will be enlarged to full screen then you can tell that the trees shown in the background aren't very big. But you can also tell that there is miles of used tubing

Lapierre is a manufacturer of tubing, so my guess is it's Lapierre.

Keith-
Thanks, Ahhh, now I can see. I thought fred had is super bionic glasses on or something.
I think those trees are pretty much the norm up there.
I was thinking about playing with the idea at my own woods. Those little guys heat up a lot quicker than the big trees, and I've had some really pump the sap out.
Doesn't take too long to get 1000's in those types of stands. And if they tapped all 12"+ trees they would go from super producer to backyarder in .05 seconds.

I think that I am going to start looking at some of the small trees that I have been walking by.

That shows you the hardiness of rock maple. They take a tapping and keep on sapping.
