Does anyone have any experience with the small 5 gallon bucket RO systems being sold on Ebay? I'm asking for a friend that would like to use it with his half pint. Any feedback is appreciated.
Here's the link:

This is too cool. Last year I added AYF to help my evaporation rate, but still had long firing days (I batch evaporate.) I've thought it would be great to find additional ways to over the process along.
I've seen all sorts of posts over the last couple years talking about adding in RO to get sweeter concentrate, but it all seemed to be bigger operations and, mor etc importantly, I did understand what was happening. The bucket RO video helped me understand.
This may well be my next purchase.

How much do they cost?
Price on eBay link is $325. (When I first looked at the link, I didn't register the price, at least when I just pulled it up, I didn't have in my head it was over $300.) Probably not in my budget this year...

I bought the smallest RO Bucket Model this year - it was all he had in stock and I usually don't have more than 24 taps at the most. Yesterday was my first run. I processed 17ish gallons of sap through it in 2hr 45 minutes. Ended up with around 10 gallons of permeate water. I was impressed. I had it fairly pressurized for max water removal. I still need to go back and test Brix on the concentrate. My starting Brix was around 3.
