Several sugarmakers began tapping last week and this week in East KY. We're getting some decent sap flows. My current brix is running 1.5-2. Looking forward to a good season. Well wishes to everyone!

I'm shooting for next Thursday- We're enjoying the warmer weather up here in Lawrence County Ohio this week, which has had me workin on livestock needs. Looks like we are goin back into freeze mode tomorrow night for the next 6 days or so. The 10 day shows a potential run of 20/40 weather starting next Friday! Good luck my Appalachian brothers and sisters!!

hey bmbmkr, sap ran on my fall taps last night, I had 42 gallons of sap off the 40 taps. The 3/16th is working great, I am sure that these taps would be done if they were on bags/buckets. they're still running today,so I'm boiling again tomorrow. I made almost 3qts of syrup today. John B came over and kept me company today and I told him you had the milk tank cleaned up and ready to set. I am thinking my 70 other taps are going in the week of January 22nd.
