This past Saturday was the Festival of the Maples in Perth. Good weather means good crowds which equals syrup sales! Mother Nature threatened to ruin the festival like in 2005 but the rain held off until after 2:00 p.m. so everyone was generally happy.
The crowd was in a good buying mood and we moved a lot of syrup, sugar and maple butter. We sold out of granulated sugar and butter so next year I have to make more! We won 3rd place for our display, 3rd place for our maple butter and 4th place for our light syrup. Our sugar content was a bit too high on the samples we entered or else our light and medium would have placed higher.
