I have a friend in the water treatment business and he gave me one of the stainless steel tanks that he removed from a customers home. Since it held household water I take it that it is food grade. It is just as clean and shiny on the inside as it is on the outside. It is 4' long and 8" diameter and can be pressurized up to 100 psi. This tank is a beauty but I can't figure out what to use it for. I just know someone here will have a great idea. I am also a first year beekeeper and open to all other suggestions.

I notice that you have a 2x3 evaporator. At that size you could use the tank to feed your evaporator. Would look good with a small sight glass on the side to tell you amount of sap remaining. Or could be turned into a filter tank, cone filter at top syrup with valve on bottom.

Interesting tank, but how would you clean the sap slime out of it.

Cut one end off and mount it in the vertical position and get like a round bucket type brush and brush and rinse it every day through a drain/valve on other end.

Thanks. I'll find some use for it. It is too nice to let it go to waste.

I use a stainless tank similar to that one as a head tank for my pre heater coil it was a soda syrup tank and had a nice hole already in the top.
Yours looks a foot or two taller. This may pose a problem hand filling perhaps pumping into that one would be better to save the work of cutting it up.
